Introducing LabStart platform
LabStart platform is a decentralized application (dApp) built on the Ethereum network providing a link between innovative project bearers and investors. Thus anyone can support the innovative projects present on the platform.
Once the innovation developed, one or several patents are filed, in order to protect the invention. Each investor owns then shares of the filed patents, in proportion to their initial investment.
The LabStart project is a new investment method of innovation. The future of the project is built on innovative projects created today. Today, innovation is the core of our society. Some of the major social issues, such as ecology, overpopulation or decentralization, require communities to find innovative solutions that will help solve this problem. Nevertheless, it is now very difficult for people to take a direct part in an innovative project. Given the importance of changing lives in our future now and in the future, we believe that everyone should be able to engage in the process at every level of responsibility.
Nowadays, it is very difficult for someone to engage in an innovative project. Indeed, a solution that can be used for individuals who will invest for you in innovative projects of companies that they will choose on their own or become part of an investor group (business type) who is an incubator or start-up partner to enable them to invest in their projects.
LabStart allows companies and organizations to present their innovation projects on special platforms. The goal is to streamline and simplify access to investment for players while eliminating many intermediaries. The LabStart platform is a sort of crowdfunding solution for innovation projects. On the other hand, LabStart creates investment opportunities for people, enabling them to invest in research projects without minimum requirements. Investors collaboratively own the property of the invention by patent. Holding patent parts allows them to choose economic and ethical decisions about the use of patents they support, thus maximizing their return on investment. Decentralized investment platform LabStart is a third-party service where research projects that require investment are displayed. Investors with LabCoins can choose projects they believe in and support them using LabCoin. LabCoin will be issued for the first time during ICO and then can be traded on the stock market.

Invest using LabCoins
In order to make investment in innovative projects easier, LabStart has developed its own token: the LabCoin. What are LabCoins?
LabCoins are ERC20 tokens created on the Ethereum network. They are used to invest in innovation projects presented on the LabStart platform. The number of available LabCoins is set beforehand and will be distributed during the pre-sale and the ICO (see LabCoin distribution for more details). One LabCoin is a unit of digital currency, like Bitcoin. LabCoin will be tradable on the exchanges after the ICO has ended.
What is LAB?
LAB is shorthand for LabCoin. Most currencies have 3-letter codes (USD, EUR, AUD, BTC) as an international standard. The technical term for this shorthand code is ISO 4217.
How does Labcoins serve investors?
LabCoin is the only currency that allows investors to fund the innovation projects featured on the LabStart platform. For each investor the amount of LabCoins invested in a project matches the patent shares owned at the end of the project (see I / Patent properties), as well as the weight of the vote in the joined Decentralized Organization. How does Labcoins serve project teams?
Once a project is fully funded, all the LabCoins invested in the project will be converted into fiat currencies on the exchanges to raise the funds needed for the project team.
